1. The first step is to decide whether you are looking to have your carpet cleaned wall-to-wall or just pathways/high traffic areas. Will you be moving the furniture or do you require us to remove and return furniture? These questions should be discussed at the time of your estimate. If you are moving your furniture, please have the area prepared and ready for us upon arrival.
2. Next step is preparing your floor by removing debris, (nails, pens, pennies, etc.) and vacuuming the floor. This is a CRUCIAL step to remove loose soil, hair, dander, and other particles that lay in and below your carpet. The majority of dust mites, dirt, and other toxins are actually found below your carpet and stay trapped there. Completing this step helps to ensure the deepest clean possible. It is also a step that doing routinely on your own will help decrease the need for carpet cleaning as well as to help create the healthiest environment for you, your family, business, and employees.
3. The next step is preparation of our chemicals and pre-treatment of your floor. This is a non-invasive/eco-friendly treatment where the chemicals are applied to help break down the dirt and toxins within your carpet to make it easy for their extraction. The type and condition of the carpet will determine the chemicals used. Do you have pets, and will we need to use a deodorizer? What about spots? Red spots? Blue spots? Biohazard spots? Coffee spots? High traffic pathways? They all require a slightly different treatment, but rest assured we can treat these areas for you!
4. Next we will agitate/buffer the floor. Depending on your floor care needs we will use agitation techniques to treat and remove stains. Some dirt or stains require special treatment of extra chemicals and/or agitation techniques of pressure and scrubbing to fully loosen the dirt and particles to prepare your carpet for a proper carpet extraction cleaning.
5. From there we will spray carpet and extract water and dirt. Once spots have been pre-treated we will be ready to do the whole floor spraying and extraction. We use only a small amount of wetting to avoid moisture seeping down into the carpet where it could cause mold or mildew. Then we extract as much liquid as possible to get up the loosened particles and leave a fresh smelling product.
6. Dry carpet In order to assure rapid drying, we set fan(s) in locations to help increase the air flow and aid in drying of the carpet. This also allows you to walk on the carpet sooner without tracking debris onto the freshly cleaned surface. Depending on your carpet type and the number of stains we had to deal with, this process may take a couple of hours or overnight.
